Wilson Saplana Gallery is happy to invite you all to an artist talk with artist Jens Settergren in conversation with art historian and museum curator at the Danish National Gallery Anna Weile Kjær on Saturday, April 5, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.
Join us as Jens Settergren and Anna Weile Kjær unfold the hypnotic video installation Milk Plus, which currently occupies the entire gallery. Milk Plus opens with a classic and recognizable scene: White, smooth milk is poured into a glass against a sky-blue background. This hyperstylistic image immediately evokes associations with cleanliness, strength and natural food from cows on pasture, to mother's milk, and to our general belief in milk as a health remedy. Along the way, we see a shift in the video’s temper, and like a surreal milk commercial, we travel through green pharmacy crosses into the interior of the body, and on to a dialogue between a 3D-animated fetus and a digitally processed voice-over proclaiming “Making Milk is Making Magic”.
The event is free, but registration is required.
