SOLO EXHIBITION, GL. HOLTEGAARD, HOLTE, DK

LØSØRE BY MAIKEN BENT

Gl. Holtegaard, Attemosevej 170, 2840 Holte, Denmark

In the exhibition LØSØRE, Maiken Bent created a large site-specific installation for the entire building, which is based on an idea of how the house's architect and first owner, Lauritz de Thurah, decorated his living rooms on Gl. Holtegaard. Bent's works are an aesthetic patchwork of objects and tools such as shiny and chains, sticks, bits, ropes, balls, straps and strips covered in colorful leather and patterned textiles. Sculptural object and fastened to floor, ceiling and walls and become fetishized object, to dare two of isscenes and opulent decadence. Bent thus works with the relationship between object, space, body and imagination.
