On Saturday February 10, 2-5 (kl 14-17) we open a one week exhibition with new monoprints and monotypes by gallery artist Maria Wæhrens in collaboration with BORCH Editions.
Maria Wæhrens' line and brushstroke are of central importance to her first intensive exploration of the medium of printmaking. Compositions on copper plates made up of different printmaking techniques form the basis of a series of monoprints. Simultaneously she experimented with the effect of different colour combinations in her expressive, intuitive compositions for her monotypes. The possibility of spontaneous mark-making with brush and colour suited Maria Wæhrens’ painterly approach and allowed her to explore further possibilities of the medium beyond the serial aspect of printmaking.
